MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND MISSIONS:

Under the supervision of the project director, the Information Management Assistant supports the collection, compilation, analysis, organization and distribution of information to project stakeholders.

As such, he/she will be responsible for:

Information and Data Management

  • Play a lead role in the design, development, management and improvement of data management systems, including databases and spreadsheets, and related data collection, cleaning and verification processes;
  • Drive thinking and innovation in monitoring and evaluation systems and tools;
  • Contribute to and facilitate program reflections among staff and partners to generate information relevant to program reporting and self-assessments on program-induced change processes
  •  Collect, compile, analyze and report on a variety of primary and secondary data from a variety of sources and organize structural record keeping and archives.
  •  Based on the data collected, conduct needs and gaps identification for the sector concerned;
  •  Integrate, archive and retrieve large data sets for cross-referencing and statistical analysis, designing workflows and data collection templates as necessary;
  • Support and participate in analytical work by processing data and information into an appropriate format;
  • Write data queries for analysis using appropriate computer language;
  •  Conduct ongoing monitoring of progress and performance;
  • Implement and regularly update the dissemination plan for all information management related products.

Studies and Evaluations

  •  Participate in the design of periodic studies of the project;
  •  Participate in the conduct of the project’s planned studies and research;
  • Support the learning objectives of the project, including the exploration of learning issues.

Reports/Documents

  • Participate in the preparation of data and information required for quarterly progress reports and project monitoring reports;
  •  Participate in the review and finalization of study reports;
  • Systematically produce monitoring and evaluation mission reports with feedback to the partners visited;
  •  Contribute to advancing the organization’s approach by sharing lessons learned, best practices and innovations with colleagues
  • Perform any other duties as requested by his/her superiors.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Management Information Systems, Demography, or equivalent;
  • Have extensive experience and knowledge of current data collection and monitoring and evaluation principles and approaches in nutrition-sensitive agriculture or market facilitation programs, using both quantitative and qualitative methods;
  • Have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in database design and management, data processing and analysis;
  •  Experience using innovative MEL methods such as outcome harvesting, most significant change, after action reviews and other qualitative and quantitative participatory methodologies is a strong asset;
  • Proficiency in the following software: Access, Sphinx, SPSS, CsPro, Epi-info;
  • Have a very good knowledge of digital data collection and practical experience in the use of software (ODK, Kobo, ONA, iForm, etc);
  •  Proven experience in managing large and complex databases, web-based database experience is an asset;
  • Willingness to work under pressure;
  • Have strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a concise, clear and well-organized style;
  • Have strong demonstrated skills in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint;
  • Be attentive and have an eye for detail and accuracy;
  • Have good adaptability and a sense of continuous learning;
  • Analytical and diagnostic skills;
  • Good knowledge of some local languages would be an asset. Ability and willingness to travel;
  •  Professional ability in French and English required
